Tickets

First of all, everyone is welcome. There is no charge to come in and enjoy the experience. Watch the action on track - we will be located just off of turn 8 and 9, which are the fastest corners on the track. There will be bouncy castles and there will be games. There will even be a mini race track that you can race on using your wheelchair, a balance bike, or even on foot. That's all free.

Saturday, September 12, 2026

2 p.m. to 5 p.m. you're welcome to join us to watch the races (yes, there will be racing happening on the track Saturday afternoon).

5 p.m. to 9 p.m. will be the Track Car ride alongs and the parade laps.

Track Car Ride Along

1. Ages 14 and up:  $125 gets you 5 laps as a passenger in a track car, a loaner helmet for your on track experience, there will be passing, and a Meal Ticket.

2. Ages 10 to 13: $65 gets you 5 laps as a passenger in a track car at a more controlled pace than group #1. No helmets will be required. There will be no passing. You'll also get a Meal Ticket.

3. Parade Laps: $50 lets you take your family out in your family vehicle and do a few laps on track. There will be a radio controlled lead car plus a radio controlled trail car. Speed will be limited to highway 1 speed, monitored by the lead car. NO PASSING! This will get you on track to enjoy the trip with your family.

**To enter the track there will be a liability waiver that must be signed. Minors must have BOTH parents sign the waiver.

Meal Tickets: $15 will get you your choice of a cheeseburger/hamburger/hot dog  plus a bag of chips plus a water bottle or soft drink.

WheelChair Accessible

Yes and No. You're absolutely welcome to take your wheelchair accessible vehicle out on track during the $50 Parade Lap sessions. In fact, we encourage this.

None of the track cars are wheelchair accessible, HOWEVER, don't despair. If you're in a wheelchair yet have strong upper body strength and sit normally in a vehicle with a 3 point harness, this should still be a viable option. We'll ensure the driver is very cognizant of  the situation. Also, there will be a few cars that have race seats (picture a very large child's car seat) with a 5 or 6 point harness. This may be ideal for individuals who have limited upper body strength.

The entry fee for any age with limited upper body strength is $65 and you will participate in the groupings that are typically for ages 10 to 13. Your caregiver MUST be able to lift you from your chair and into the race seat of the track car.

**If you have complex medical needs and require a caregiver to be with you, then the only option will be the parade lap sessions.

Who and Why

Emmett Willms is an 11 year old boy finishing Grade 5 and starting Grade 6 in September. Emmett has Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Type 1, and he has been using a power wheelchair since before age 2. His mom and dad bought a used accessible van at that time and it is now aging out. Accessible vans cost in the neighbourhood of $100,000 plus, thus they are reaching out to the community for support.

Canuck Place Children's Hospice is an amazing facility that supports children and their families. Care is open to children aged 0 to 19 with progressive, life-threatening illnesses throughout BC and the Yukon. Programs includes pain and symptom management, medical respite, education and art, music and recreation therapy, end-of-life care, and grief and bereavement counselling. All at no cost to families.

CureSMA Canada's mission includes direct family support and funding Canadian research projects. CureSMA Canada fosters community of individuals and families with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Additionally, they host an amazing summer camp (one in the west and one in the east) for families to enjoy a full and vibrant camp experience.

Where:
Mission Raceway Park

Our Host for this event is B.C. Custom Car Club,  Mission Raceway Park, and we so appreciate how supportive they've been in assisting us in organizing this charity event. This amazing motorsports facility hosts drag races, drift events, time attack, motocross, and wheel to wheel racing.  We will be utilizing the 2.25 km, 9 corner road course for our ride along event. The cars you'll be in will be capable of running this course between 85 seconds (average speed 95 kph) and as fast as 70 seconds (average speed 115 kph). Now, we won't be going nearly that fast, but absolutely fast enough to feel braking, cornering, and acceleration G-Forces!

All drivers have been hand picked for this event. Know that you're in good hands when you go out on track.
